WI
  • Eager Weavers Basket Guild Located in Wisconsin Rapids Wisconsin.
"During the cold months we meet indoors at the Cultural Center to weave together for 2 hours, twice a month. Before we go to weave, we meet at Buzz’s Bar for a hamburger and a drink. This is where we do our serious socializing and catch up on each others lives. After lunch we gather in a large meeting room to weave. We exchange ideas and tips while we work on our own projects. Periodically, we may decide to do a basket as a group. This only happens once or twice a year.
In the summer time we meet outside in a park by the Wisconsin River every week. The setting is just lovely and we often enjoy coffee and a treat while we weave. Since our location is far from any basket shops, about once a year we get together for a field trip to a nearby ( 3 or 4 hours ) basket shop, exhibit or to take a class.
We have a summer potluck picnic and in winter, a Christmas party.
I guess our group is an even mix of socializing and basketmaking. We have all levels of basketmakers."
