These fun summery baskets are easy to make and great to use for picnics and décor in your home. Enjoy making and using your watermelon baskets!

Students may choose to make one or purchase kits for all 3 sizes.

Made on square hoops, the ribs are pre-shaped. Handles are twill woven. Basic ribbed basket techniques are used – god’s eyes, sighting ribs, whittling and weaving the basket to a successful conclusion. Small (6” square) and Medium (8” square) have all primary ribs. Large (10” square) has both primary and secondary ribs. Choose size by skill level. Buttons are handmade and shaped like watermelon seeds!

Large – 10 hours - $80 – Advanced You will NOT finish this basket in class but will have the knowledge needed to finish at home.

Medium – 8 hours - $65 – Intermediate You may NOT finish this basket in class but will have the knowledge needed to finish at home.

Small – 6 hours - Beginner

Cost - $50

Tools needed: Usual basket tools including awl, shears, water container, clips for rim, knife to scarf the ribs.

Hours – 6
