This basket makes a fabulous tote or catchall. Students will learn how to make a solid woven base so items will not fall out. Three rows of 1/2” FF reed gets it upright. The sides are then chase woven in a continuous weave with royal blue dyed 1/4” flat oval. The corners are not creased, creating pouched out sides. The top is finished with twining or 3 rod-wale. Before lashing with cane, students will learn how to make a handle just using reed. The handle is wrapped with a pretty cane design.
Usual basket tools including a spoke weight (very important for base!), small & large clips, packers, needle nose pliers, angle cutters, scissors, scrapers, cutting board, measuring tape, electrical ties, spray bottle, and any other tools the student may find helpful.
