Description - This basket begins by inserting spokes into a 7” x 10” wooden base with the help of a template. It is woven in autumn spice space dyed colors and dark green round reed. Techniques include three-rod wale with a step-up, 2/1 and 2/2 twills, overlays and arrows. The basket is lashed with waxed linen. Slower weavers may need to rim after class.
Students should be confident doing three-rod wale and a step-up will be reviewed.
Usual basket tools including needle nose pliers, scissors, angle cutters, spray bottle, towel, clips, packers, tape measure, awl, scraper & cutting board, and any other tools you find useful.
