Description
Pretwisted natural grass rush, resembles twisted cattail rush approximately 3/16" (4.5 - 5.5 mm) - 1/4" (6 mm) diameter coiled.
Approximately 300 feet per coil, approximately 2 pounds.. Order 2 coils for one 15" seat, 3 coils for two.
This rope is handtwisted and there will be variation in thickness and color.
NOT recommended for beginners.
This rush must be mellowed (dip in hot water and wrap in damp towel, allow moisture to soak into center) before use. Be sure to wrap masking tape around the cut ends so the rope does not unravel.
Also used as a rim filler in basketry, as a core material for coiling and as a weaving accent.
