Oak ear with 5/8" closed notches on each side of the ear.
This ear is placed down over the rim row so it is sandwiched in the rim with the inside and outside rims fitting into the notches and the tips of the ear will be inserted into the weaving on the inside and outside of the basket.
3/4" wide opening (1" from side of ear loop ro the other), 5" long. Wood is approximately 3/8" wide.
Only the tip of the ear should be inserted into one or two rows of the weaving. Ear tip can be trimmed to fit shorter baskets.
Ears made for swing handles can be used as mini bushel basket handles.
Also used in the rim to attach leather handles around.
All wooden handles require some degree of sanding.
Please allow for some variations as they are handmade.
