Oak ear with 1/2" closed notches on one side of the ear.
This ear is placed against the rim row so it is on the inside OR the outside of the basket and the rim fits into the notches and the tips of the ear will be inserted into the weaving on whichever side of the basket it is placed.
3/4" wide opening (1" from side of ear loop ro the other), 5" long. Wood is approximately 3/8" wide.
Only the tips of the ear should be inserted into one or two rows of the weaving. Ear tip can be trimmed to fit shorter baskets.
Ears made for swing handles can be used as mini bushel basket handles or as a hanger on the back of a wall basket.
Also used in the rim to attach leather handles around.
All wooden handles require some degree of sanding.
Please allow for some variations as they are handmade.
